Dr Ezekiel Olugbenga AKINKUNMI, the National Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia [NAPA] is of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University [OAU], Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He had a BPharm degree with Distinction at the Faculty of Pharmacy, OAU with an MSc and a PhD in the same institution specializing in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology. Dr Akinkunmi also had a PharmD degre e of the University of Benin. He was an Associate lecturer at the School of Health Information and Biostatistics of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife. He had a brief stint as a Research Scholar at the School of Pharmacy, Biosciences and Biotechnology, University of Camerino, Italy.   He is an Associate Professor and the acting Head of his Department. Dr Akinkunmi was the Chairman of the Obafemi Awolowo University branch of NAPA and has served the national body at different capacity. As an academic, he is a member of several professional and academic bodies including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, American Society for Microbiology, Copyright Society of Nigeria, International Network for Rational Use of Drugs, Science Advisory Board and ProMed International. He is a reviewer for over thirty highly refereed academic journals. He was Associate Editor, Nigerian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and is an Editorial Board Member of the African Journal of Infectious Diseases. He has also served as Editor and Member of Council of Osun State PSN. In search of personal development, he has participated in many leadership and professional trainings in and outside the country.  

Aside from Pharmacy, Dr Akinkunmi is a minister in the Nigeria Baptist Convention. He is an author of books and has wide experience in music, producing music albums. Dr Akinkunmi is slightly disabled with idiopathic scoliosis. He is happily married to his heartthrob and helpmeet Rachael Olubisi and has four biological children: Testimony, Marvelous, Blessed and Glorious.
